is how I have spent much of my time. Most have been with my wife, some alone, some with small or larger groups of friends. Almost more time has been spent planning the trips and getting best deal rail fares! (but that is my choice and you can benefit from it). The list will be amplified as time goes on with booking tips, recommendations, recipes and photos added in by links to blog posts about each trip. and Some of these trips had a semi-work objective but all were able to trade off time for enjoyment, comfort, lower carbon impact and simply for interest in the "places in between”.
In almost every case, the trips identified meet the criterion of travelling further by green modes than by carbon oppressive means of travel. Most were entirely by ‘green’ modes. They cover trips all over Europe and even into Asia Minor. One trip took us to the Far East, one (the major exception to the green criteria) to Cuba!
